How to upgrade free FortiClient VPN client?

For work I need to login remotely to a 3rd party. This 3rd party uses a Forti security solution. The 3rd party told me to use the FortiClient VPN software to connect to their network. Which I installed. So far everything is reasonable.

However, I have lots of problems initiating and maintaining a VPN connection using the free version of the FortiClient VPN software. 3rd party still has an OpenVPN solution available but is about to be sunsetted. No problems at all creating and maintaining VPN connections with that software. It leads me to believe that the problem lies with the Forti software, not with my setup.

The sysadmin at 3rd party suggested that with an upgrade the FortiClient VPN software would not have problems creating and maintaining VPN connections. The free client also states that it should be upgraded. But it lacks a link or button to do this upgrade. The FortiNet website is vast but does not appear to have any feature to do an upgrade of the FortiClient VPN software quickly.

So how? Where are links to upgrade quickly? What are the costs involved? Or links to resellers?

My apologies, but to be totally honest, fruitless searching for a solution to a problem with software that was forced upon me, made me lose interest in any and all products available on the FortiNet website.
